23 Nov Rancho Santa Fe lands top spot on Forbes’ list of richest zip codes

Rancho Santa Fe has once again made a famous distinction: For the second time, the upscale community made the top 50 list of Forbes’ most expensive zip codes in the nation.

Rancho Santa Fe real estate in zip code 92067 is not only wealthy by San Diego standards but also by national standards with a median home price of $3.2 million.

San Diego ranked as the 42nd most expensive community, down from 27th last year. The top five wealthiest communities are Atherton at $10.5 million; Sagaponack, NY at $7.4 million; the 10012 zip code in NYC; Woody Creek, Colo. at $7 million and the 10013 zip code in NYC at $7.3 million, respectively.

The study used asking home prices. California zip codes 12 of the top 25 spots. Rancho Sante Fe consistently ranks as one of the top communities for luxury real estate.Rancho Santa Fe real estate made it the most expensive place to live in San Diego with a median home price of $2.4 million, up six percent from October 2014, according to the most recent Core Logic data.
